Hot Rolled Steel: FLAI uses exclusively hot rolled steel, as opposed to cold rolled used by other manufacturers. The cold rolling process causes tension in the steel which make it impossible to obtain a homogenous material to provide a perfectly stable, flat blade body. With hot rolling, the steel is free from the tensions found in cold rolling, and furthermore each plate is individually heat treated to obtain an unmatched structural uniformity.
 
Metal Gear coating: MetalGear makes it possible to achieve hardness in excess of 3000HV and to increase the toughness of the tool while conserving excellent characteristics of chemical and thermal stability. MetalGear is the perfect coating for steel cutting blades. It doubles tool life as compared with blades that are not coated, ensures greater feed rate during working, and above all allows the use of machines without lubrication devices (dry cut).
 
Select Carbide: Thanks to the SinterHIP produce and the use of only micro-grain carbides, Flai are able to braze an extremely hard material onto the blades which is at the same time tough, thus ensuring longer life regardless of the material being worked.
